About the Role:

Airbnb is looking for a dynamic Risk Trends Analyst to join its Payment Risk Trends Investigation team — the heart of trust and safety across Airbnb’s global marketplace. This role is central to ensuring secure and authentic experiences for millions of hosts and guests worldwide.

A Typical Day Includes:

• Investigating suspicious user activity and ensuring community safety.
• Monitoring transactions to detect evolving fraud patterns.
• Managing case resolutions promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborating with other departments on complex investigations.
• Producing detailed fraud and trend analysis reports for leadership.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Finance, Data Science, or Computer Science preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in fraud, risk, audit, or cybercrime investigations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and data-driven problem solving.
• Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Superset.
• Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and manage end-to-end investigations.
• Knowledge of distributed query systems like Trino/Presto is advantageous.
• Background or certification in data science is a plus.
